Our unique “Hastings”; diesel train is operating a day excursion, the West Country Cruiser railtour, from Hastings to Exeter on this date. Whilst the train is in Devon we will be offering a rare opportunity to travel along the Exeter – Barnstaple ‘Tarka’ Line in a fomer Southern Region DEMU.

As many will know, this line to Barnstaple once formed part of a network of Southern lines in the West Country that extended to Plymouth, Ilfracombe, Bude, Padstow, but it is now a picturesque branch line in its own right.

This run will be an out-and-back special trip along the branch, departing from Exeter Central, then picking up at Exeter St. Davids. Once at Barnstaple return will be immediate, running back only as far as Exeter St. Davids.

Our train has a buffet car, from which hot & cold drinks and other refreshments may be purchased.
