TPWS modifications

All three of our operational motor coaches have had their TPWS updated with National Railway Supplies (NRS)’s “Modification Level E”; this is to improve further the apparatus’ reliability. The ‘mod’ was applied to HDL’s fleet of driving vehicles first, as they are the testbed for NRS’s TPWS equipment for all remaining DEMUs. Hastings and Mountfield had the ‘mod’ initially, and ran with it on the Salisbury railtour; this was actually quite important as the NRS system needs to be tested off the DEMUs’ home region. Motor Coach Tunbridge Wells, which was in the middle of the train on that outing, had the modification fitted subsequently.
